Kaustubh Naik has a Masters in Performance Studies from the School of Culture and Creative Expression, Ambedkar University, Delhi and an MPhil in Theatre and Performance Studies from the School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU. He is keenly interested in modern Goan history, public spheres, nationalism, and debates around caste and language in Goa. Between 2015-16, he wrote a fortnightly column for The Goan Everyday, an English newspaper published from Goa. He has been awarded the DD Kosambi Junior Research Fellowship for the period 2016-18 by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa. He was also awarded the Tendulkar Dubey fellowship for the year 2020 for his work in Indian theatre. He is currently a doctoral student at the South Asia Studies Department, University of Pennsylvania. He’s working on the history of colonial institutions and power in 18-20th century Goa.
